Trophies/Prizes: For LP, UP, and EL sections, trophies will be awarded to top 5 teams, top 5 overall, top 5 within each grade, top unrated, and biggest upset. For JH, trophies will be awarded to top 5 teams, top 5 overall, top 4 in each grade, top unrated, and biggest upset. Participation awards for all K-1.
Food Service: Sandwiches, pizza, samosas, snacks, and beverages will be available to purchase.

Official ratings will be used for this tournament using the February Rating Supplement from the USCF (which reflect what each child’s rating was following the MLK tournament in January). Of course, children may ‘play up’ to a higher rating class or grade level if desired.
Entry Fee: $15.00 (USCF membership required, JTP acceptable for K-3)

It has come to my attention that conflicting time and location information was previously published regarding this weekend's tournament. The entire tournament, including Blitz and Bughouse, will be held at the Marriott. No activities are being held at ISU this year. Blitz will begin at 6:30 and Bughouse will begin at 8:00

ENTRY FEE
$35 per player received by Wednesday, March 1, 2017. Please register and pay online at www.onlineregistration.cc. Online Registration is now closed. The entry list can be viewed by going to the onlineregistration.cc webpage, scrolling to the bottom, click the "+Show Completed tournament List" button, expand "Bloomington Normal Area Schoolastic Chess" and then click the "Entry List" buttom.
If your registration and payment cannot be completed by March 1, then the late registration fee is $50.00 and payment must be received by Friday evening 9:00 P.M.March 10, 2017.
Late registration will be available on Friday, March 10, from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. All money including registration and USCF membership fees are to be completed before the day of the tournament.
No new registrations will be accepted on Saturday morning. If you do not pay online, please make your check payable to Bloomington/Normal Area Scholastic Chess or BNASC and mail registrations with all information to Amy Green, 405 Hovey Avenue, Normal, IL 61761.
Include the following: USCF number, name, grade, school, town of school, phone number and email address.
Other information:
Players must come from the state of Illinois. Top four players count toward team score. No club teams. No byes last round. Byes for any single round must be requested before the end of the first round. Only one bye allowed for tournament. All other rules/regulations shall be in accordance to ICA By-laws and the USCF Rulebook.
Special Note: USCF JTP will be allowed in K-1 and 2-3 Sections.

BLITZ & BUGHOUSE TOURNAMENT

March 10, 2017, Illinois K-8 Chess Blitz & Bughouse Tournament - Bloomington-Normal Marriott Hotel in uptown Normal. Please register and pay online at www.bnasc.org by Sunday, March 1. The entry fee is $10 for each tournament by March 1. Late registration will be on Friday from 5:30 to 6:15 P.M. with a late registration fee of $20.00 for each tournament. All players will play in one Blitz section.
Bughouse will also have one section. If you do not have a Bughouse partner, we will have a list Friday night to establish teams.
Schedule: 5:30 – 6:15 PM Late registration. Blitz from 6:30 to 8 P.M. 5 Rounds SS. G5 d0;
Bughouse from 8 to 9 P.M. 5 rounds SS or when complete.

Normal Community West High School chess coach Garrett Scott is conducting a fundraiser for the West Chess Team. Coach Scott was coaching Oakland School chess club when he founded the King Day tournament in 1988.

2017 Scholastic Chess Tournament

Registration Limit: Registration is limited to the first 270 entries.
Entry Fee: $15, checks made payable to Prairieland Chess Club. Please register online at http://www.bnasc.info/bnasc.org. Registration deadline is 6:00 p.m., Friday, January 27th, 2017, or until limit of 270 entries is met. Any players added AFTER registration deadline will NOT be paired for first round and receive a 0.5 point bye.
