Bring:  A folding chair or two because seating may be limited

Sections: 4 sections by grade: LP (K-1), UP (2-3), EL (4-5), JH (6-8)

Number of Rounds and Time Limits: LP, UP, EL – 5 rounds G/30, JH – 4 rounds G/45

Registration Limit: Registration is limited to the first 200 entries.

Entry Fee: $15, checks made payable to Grove Chess Club.

Entry deadline is 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 7th 2016, or until limit of 200 entries is met.

Registration (coaches only): Check-in and all changes are due by 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.

You must be checked in by 8:30 or you will not be paired for the first round. The first round will start at 9:00 a.m. with subsequent rounds to follow as soon as possible. No Club Teams.

USCF Registrations: USCF membership required, JTP acceptable for K-3. Please check that your USCF registrations are current through 1/10. USCF can be purchased on site orat www.uschess.org.

Trophies for top 5 teams per section (top 5 Junior High)

Top 5 Individuals in each section

Class trophies in each section

Lower Primary - Top player in 400s, 300s, 200s and 100s, non-rated

Upper Primary - Top player in 600s, 500s, 400s, 300s, 200s, 100s, non-rated

Elementary - Top player in 800s, 700s, 600s, 500s, 300-499,100-299, non-rated

Junior High – Top player in 1000-1199, 800-999, 600-799, 400-599, under 400, non-rated

Participation awards for all K-1

Biggest upset trophy in each section

Food Service: Breakfast Items, Gondolas, Vegetarian Gondolas, Pizza, Snacks and Beverages will be available. We ask that all food remain in the cafeteria.  Thank you!  (continued on next page)

Information Session for Parents:  Scott Daniels, Expert Grove Chess Club Parent, will be providing a brief information session during round 1 (approximately 9am) for any parents who are interested.  He will discuss what to expect at tournaments, how pairings are determined, ratings, trophies, and more.
