When: Date: Saturday, March 8, 2008
Where: Site: Chiddix Junior High School, 300 S Walnut St, Normal, IL, 61761.
What: Scholastic Chess Tournament (Warm up for State Chess Championships)

Sections: 5 Sections: LP (K-1), UP (2-3), E (4-5), JH (6-8), HS (9-12)
Time Limits: Game 30, 5 rounds
Entry Fee: $15.00 (USCF membership required, JTP acceptable for K-3)

Entry deadline: 6:00 p.m., Thursday, March 7th, 2008
Registration (coaches only): Check in and all changes are due by 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. You must be checked in by 8:30 or you will not be paired for the first round.

Starting Time:

First round will start at 9:00 with subsequent rounds to follow as soon as possible. Awards presented ASAP.

Trophies/Prizes:
For the Lower Primary, Upper Primary & Elementary Section - Trophies will be awarded to the top 5 teams, top 10 individuals, top 5 grade individuals, 1 for the biggest upset. Also 9 medals will be award to the top individuals per USCF rating section. For a total of 35 Trophies & 9 medals per section

Jr. High Section - Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 teams, top 10 individuals, top 3 grade individuals, and 1 for the top upset. For a total of 23 Trophies.

High School Section - Top 5 individuals and 2 top grade and top upset. For a total of 14 trophies

Food Service: Breakfast: Bagels, Doughnuts, Fruit, Coffee, and Juice;

Lunch: Indian Menu, Sandwiches, Hot Dogs, Pizza, Chips, Candy, Veggies & Beverages.
